Wednesdays are Live Nao!

Thank you guys for another awesome Y! Live Town Hall session! Sorry this weeks broadcast was all choppy and full of lag. Turns out that the laptop we were running on (mine of course) was set to go through too many interweb tubez and caused the stream to get all clogged up. Problem solved, and next weeks show should run easy breezy!

But even through the crappy quality, you guys brought some awesome feedback to the table! Some of the big things that were discussed is the idea of introducing moderators, or perhaps a way to invite users to your channel personally and give broadcasters the tools to keep any riff raff from ruining their live experience. Rest assure that the team is busy as we speak brainstorming ideas on how to make the community more safe to use, as well as keeping things fun and open.

The idea that I loved the most was about possibly having a Y! Live meet up! If you broadcast your party, I promise that the team here would be stoked to hang out and watch the event! And like I said, if you are ever in the bay area, drop us a line! We are totally down for hosting a shindig here if your interested in getting the chance to meet the team that runs things behind the scenes.

See ya next week! And if you had an idea that wasn’t directly addressed during the meeting, always feel free to drop it on the suggestion board! We always look forward to hearing from you!

Later gators!

Tilly

It would be great if we had the ability to pass on power to another trusted user. I think that would probably appeal to a great deal of new users if that was an option. Just recently I went into a young girl’s channel, and I had to witness her getting bombarded by /b/ and other online nuisances. If we had a way to pass on moderation from one user to another, it would definitely help diminish this problem. That aside, if you decide to throw the Y Live party, it’s imperative that you post pictures of the event for the people who cannot swing by. If I lived in Cali I’d be bringing the super soakers and KOOLAID.

Hope you could improve the sound quality of yahoo live. I really love the technology enabling me to broadcast my mixes to a worldwide audience but I hope the sound quality will improve to give my audience a better aural experience. Thanks for the support and keep doing what ya’ll are doing. Godspeed.

I want to make a suggestion, I think we should be able to disable the embedding feature at our own will. There are too many people who would prefer to keep their broadcasts to a minimum in their private chatrooms.

I think it would be a great feature to use. Also, we should be able to block people from viewing us in our own channels when we are in other rooms.

@thelotusunfolds Trust me when I say that the team here is very hard at work developing ways to give broadcasters more control over their channel. I can’t give anything away, it would ruin the suprise! and OMG you should throw together your own local Live meet up! Then maybe we can schedule our at the same time and it would be like we were all partying together!

@Karl David Thank you for broadcasting your mad turntable skillz! Since Y! Live is still pretty new, we still have things to improve on. Thank you for your support and patience!

@Banjo Like I told thelotusunfolds above, the gang here is totally on it! Great idea, I will definitely make sure I bring this up the next time the team is brainstorming!
