Obama rally streamed on Y! Live today

We always knew politics would be a great use case for Y! Live - we just didn’t expect it to be on our first day after launch! Rob Glaser, CEO of Real Networks, streamed an Obama rally in Seattle to a live audience on Y! Live just a few minutes ago. Thanks Rob for streaming it for us, and thanks to Kent Brewster for providing the audio feed - I have to say, it was an amazing moment for us all.

Kent has some additional screenshots.

Also, Silicon Alley Insider picked up the story and embedded the broadcast on their blog.

This is what I see on l.y.c home page:-

    Hola abdul! ¿Como estas?

Probably, text is not UTF8 or something wrong.. It would be good idea to have a feedback form/link somewhere on the homepage..

I am excited abotu the program, but you really need to put up some information on how to use it. i cant even figure out how to add a channel to my favorite if you can even do that.

can i record my shows that i put on on my channel?

can i adjust the light on mcam. or do i need to do that wih a diferent app. i honestly dont know how to do it so can you tell me how either way?

cna i open a channel and only have people come in i invite?

can i hear people in my channel talk back or can they only tyoe..

I just discovered this new feature. I was over at electronics store asking about webcam vs digital camera to use for a professional look for my internet talk radio program.

They were all scratching their heads…video camera team have no clue about live stream….computer(geek squad) knows the concept but have no clue about digital cameras with live stream capability and what is best.

What I would like to see - as a potential client - is basic data on setup FAQs. Please don’t assume that I know all the hardware I need.
Please don’t assume that Best Buy-Circuit City etc have people who know exactly what I need as ‘they’(retail) may not know about your new feature/service.

Do I go with 1.3 or 2.0 Mg webcam?
Do I go with a digital camera that has USB live stream compatiability if I want a more professional look?
Does your system work where the digital camera is recognized with your system and records onto your server? Do I also record with my own dig tape so I have an internal copy of the live show?

What about titles, music…cutaway to ‘commercial’ is that done from my own video studio?

What about my own commercial/sponsors to advertise local businesses so I can get funding.
Can I expect, with request from me, stats on ‘type’ of viewers I’m getting on my program so I can inform business owners of the buying power of my audience?

I realize you are starting this: Hope you can answer these questions, that as a start up biz owner, I will want to understand and know the advantages to connecting with you versus other sites already up and active.

    Thank you

I think Yahoo Live is great guys. I used to broadcast on Justin.Tv and also on Ustream. Neither of them compare to your system. I love it and I am officially going live and I have made the switch.

Here is my new channel to take a peek…

I look forward to hosting many live money making shows here, and just wanted to say thanks for the opportunity.

lovin’ the service- just keep getting a NULL error with my webcam(s) - sounds like many other peeps are getting it too- i would suggest getting that fixed first, because that’s the bread and butter of the service- everything else is additional-

contact me if you’d like me to be an official tester or QA person- i’m a software developer at my shop and i think i do pretty good at being an “average user”- hehe

    thanks,
    rob
