Y! Live’s first night was quite a ride. We had some killer performances from JT the Bigga Figga, Sheena Melwani, David Choi, Tilly Key, DJ Buzzkill and more - props to all of you, we all had a blast hanging out with you!
We also saw our site go through some intermittent outages as traffic surged late into the evening. We’ve been researching it and have identified some key improvements we need to make to make the site run more smoothly - we’re working hard to implement those now. We hope to have the site up and running much more smoothly in the morning.
One thing to keep in mind is that although this product comes from Yahoo! (a big company), the team working on Y! Live is only six people deep. We’re a really tiny incubation group which is tasked with building innovative new products and get them out there ASAP. Our mantra is to iterate and build with the community, as opposed to unveiling The Next Big Thing on Day One. We hope you collaborate with us as we shape Y! Live into a game-changing product.

We’re itching to try this. We’re streamimg the St Patrick’s Day Parade form Dublin Ireland March 17th along with our Paddy’s Day Radio special! Lets go!!! the crew, liveIreland.com
Only 6 People make this?
Amazing!
I think in 3-6 Month this 6 Prople are chief of 600 People!!!!!
TOP WORK!!!
it was fun. this will be great when all the bugs are worked out
Great live feeds. I’ve been using Ustream, but will be interesting to try this out. Thanks. I found out about this on Twitter, and then sent another tweet to see who else has heard about it.
Good luck, I’ll be back, I just don’t have a camcorder here or I’d try it now. Maybe when I get home.
The first major problem that I can see is 16:9 support. Please.
Thanks
incredible launch! I think the bumps actually added to the excitement. you’ve got a game-changing product here. keep at it. problem is: no more pajama chit chatting for me.
rock on.
Congrats on the launch.
Is there a way for a user to have more than one channel?
Can you record the video for later rebroadcasting?
It broke because there is a lot of interest in your site. I like the interface a lot, and I think this project will be a success.
Congrats! Y! live team. Nicely managed launch.
Great work guys! what you did was amazing. I am really excited to see the potential.
Not bad at all, guys! Keep up the good work. Finding this vid streaming is more reliable than iChat.
would love to be able to embed this in a flash site. Is that possible?
I’m always a supporter of Yahoo, After I heard the Microsoft buyout, I pay more attention to this new invention, I sent some other feed back to other forum (like auto search from chat room or mensenger conversation,) Google’s Ad scense type third party search, but insert into publisher’s content, not side bar.
Yahoo Live need contents, You guys need to recruit people from YouTube from myspace, share profit from performers. Post schedule and calenders of each performers.
they can have a “How to” lessens, singing concerts, or comedys etc
sign contract with pop singer perform Live concert and sell tickets… e.g. IF Justin Timberlake perform on Yahoo Live for 2 hour. i think the ticket will worth some money.
Bonjour,
Amicalement
Nice work making it so easy to get started with this - at least on my Mac it was child’s play. Virtually zero barrier to anyone who wants to start broadcasting. Cool!
I am trying to use this with someone in poland and on his end it is not working? He can see himself in the control but he cant go live and his buttons are inactive. He also cant chat because he cant connect? Is this a flash problem? Is it a connection issue? Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. thank you
Chad
Can’t find anywhere else to post this problem, so here it goes:
I set up my Yahoo! Live account earlier today, and everything was working smoothly once I figured out how to get my audio to transmit. But after a few minutes, my page froze and then Internet Explorer shut down.
I figured it was just a little glitch, so I pulled IE back up and tried it again.
But when I click “Go Live” or “My Channel”, as the page tries to connect, everything freezes up and IE crashes again and again and again and again… Get the idea?
Is there something I can do to fix this? If not, it appears I’ll never be able to log on to Yahoo! Live again. Agghhhh!
thanks,

How can I fix my “Go Live” button? Just the other day I can’t press the button even though I am logged in to my yahoo account. How can this be fixed please…
THANKS!
